Scope and content
Many of the original items contain records from several manors. The original schedule describes the records from the viewpoint of what is available for each manor, rather than what each item contains. Some of the reference numbers may therefore appear in several series, although an attempt has been made to unite the various descriptive elements of the various items. For Middleton manorial records, comprising court rolls, 6 Oct. 1407, Oct. 1410-April 1411, Oct. 1411-April 1412, and Oct. 1412-April 1413, see nos. 5812-5814 (Sandfoord court rolls) and 5356 (Aston court roll) respectively. For Ruyton Villa and Patri manorial records, and Melverley manorial records, comprising bailiff's accounts, and manorial records for the forests of Coed-y-gaer, Trefelech, Coed 'Keryg', Cwm 'Kereog' and Crickheath, comprising forester's accounts, all Michaelmas 1505, see no. 5327 (Aston bailiff's accounts). For Kinnerley manorial records, comprising ringild's or reeve's accounts, 1369-1505, see nos. 5305, 5307-5308 and 5327 (Aston bailiff's accounts).
