Biographical history

The first meeting of the Board was held in July 1908 with the Vice-Chancellor as its chairman and served the Court in an advisory role. It approved courses of study; recommended the appointment of new examiners; and recommended medical statutes and regulations: reports of its meetings were sent to the Court. It would seem that the Board ceased to function after re-organisation of the University by Supplemental Charter in 1920 following the Report of the Royal Commission on University Education in Wales, 1916-1918 (the Haldane Commission).
