Note
The North America-Wales Foundation, a charitable organisation, promotes educational and cultural links between Wales and North America. Two of its founders were the industrialist Sir William Crawshay of Cyfarthfa, Glamorgan and John (Jack) K Evans, who began his career exporting slate from Porthmadog and ended up in a position of great influence in the United States oil industry. Originally known as the National Welsh-American Federation, the organisation changed its name in 2017 to reflect growing participation in Canada.
