The series consists of manuscript and typescript drafts of all of Bernice Rubens's novels published between 1960 and 1999, together with notes relating to the novels and stage and screen adaptations of them, and also a few short stories. Many of the novels were published with little emendation after one or two drafts.

Action: The following papers have been destroyed: duplicate typescript drafts of Kingdom Come, A solitary grief and Mother Russia; and publishers' proofs of The elected member, Kingdom Come, A solitary grief, Mother Russia and Autobiopsy.
