Biographical history
Many of the deeds in this series derive from the estate of Richard Edwards of Trefonnen. He accumulated property in Trefonnen, Trefarclawdd, Sychdyn [Llansilin] and other townships near Oswestry through inheritance, exchange and purchase. The estate was divided in accordance with his will in 1647. Part was sold by his great-niece, Mary (daughter of John Edwards, wife of John Key), to Watkin Kyffin between 1661 and 1663. Properties in Trefonnen, Trefarclawdd, Bailey Street and Church Street were purchased by Sir Watkin Williams Wynn, 1771 and 1788.
