A packet of seven letters relating to the estate and the heirs of William Doley of Chester, merchant: (1) D. Cox to Mr. Hunt, stating that one John Doley had two sons and one daughter. One son died without issue; the other had an only daughter who married one Sheppard and also had an only daughter, the said Sheppard being (1) then in possession of the estate by virtue of his marriage. Dated : Coleshill, 21 Feb. 1728/9. (2) Thomas Fluitt to Mr. Fluitt, attorney at law in Chester, giving the result of enquiries made concerning the Doley family. Sheppard and Miss Doley had two daughters, of whom one died in infancy and the other married a clergyman in Wales, by whom she had one child, and is since dead. Dated : Birmingham; June 16 1747. (3) Ben. Palmer to Mrs. Fluitt at Mr. Randal Fluitt at Overton near Frodsham, Cheshire. Further information concerning the heirs to the Doley estate, Miss Sheppard married Mr. William Harries, a clergyman, and died leaving one daughter, Jane Ann Eleanor Harries, then about two and a half years old and residing with her father and grandfather at Tregwint in Pembrokeshire. Dated : 16 April 1748. (4) Thomas Fluitt to Mr. Randle Fluitt at Overton near Frodsham (but begins "Hond. Madam'). Matters relating to the Doley estate. Dated : Birmingham, 16 April 1748. (5) Thomas Williams to Mrs. Fluitt at her house in Holywell, Flintshire. Mr. William Harries has moved from Tregwint to Llangharn (sic.) in Carmarthenshire, and has married again. His daughter lives with him. Sends 69lbs of butter at 31/2d per lb Dated : Denbigh, 8 December 1752. (6) Thomas Williams to his cousin [Mrs. Fluitt]. Further information concerning the Doley estate. Should Miss Harries die before attaining her majority, and without issue, then Mrs. Fluitt is the next heir. Dated : Denbigh, 29 June 1753. (7) Philip Pugh to Mr. Thomas Williams in Bull Lane, Denbigh. Miss Harries has eloped with one Captain Wilson, to be married in Scotland. No recovery could be passed on the estate as yet. Dated : Tuglyn, 14 Feb. 1763.
