Roberts, Gweinidog yr Annibynwyr, Aberteifi, ymchwil ar hanes ei gapel, Capel Mair, ac ysgrifennodd fywgraffiad o weinidog arall yr Annibynwyr, Dr Peter Price (1864-1940), ar gyfer Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 1949. Roedd hefyd yn aelod o'r pwyllgor gwaith a drefnodd Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Aberteifi yn 1976.

Roberts, 1833-1977, comprising materials used in his research on the history of Capel Mair, which was published as Capel Mair, Aberteifi (Llandysul, 1955), and also correspondence and notes, 1905-1971, relating to his biography of Dr Peter Price, published as Cofiant Peter Price (Swansea, 1970), together with material, 1974-1977, relating to the organisation of the 1976 national eisteddfod at Cardigan.
