Biographical history
The Poundley family came from The Black Hole, Pentregate and later Springfields, parish of Kerry, Montgomeryshire. The Griffiths family came from Trennydd, parish of Newport, Pembrokeshire, also The Moat, parish of Kerry, and Pigeonsford, Llangrannog, Cardiganshire.
Archival history
Acquired by the Griffiths family under the will of Lucy Jane Poundley.

Purchased from Gareth J. Jones of Llangrannog, in 1989.

Papers of the Poundley family comprising deeds of The Black Hole, 1885-1928, probate records, 1896-1951; financial papers, 1864-1938; estate correspondence, 1854-1947; receipt bills, 1865-1920; farming memoranda, 1904-1915, and personal papers, 1837-1921. Papers of Gwenvron Mary Griffiths, 1909-1964; Eryl Whiteman (née Griffiths), 1910-1951; and Mary Nesta Griffiths, 1913-1954; and also papers relating to the General Strike, 1926.
