Biographical history
Richard Green (b. 1803), son of George Green of Knighton, esq., and Margaret, youngest daughter of Richard Price of Knighton, esq., assumed the additional surname Price in 1874 in accordance with the will of his maternal uncle, Richard Price, lord of the manor of Norton, esq., and was created a baronet in the same year.

Immediate source of acquisition or transfer
One group was donated by Sir Robert Henry Green-Price of Gwernafel, bart, in 1958, and another group was deposited in 1982 by Messrs Stoneham, Langton & Passmore of London, per the British Records Association.

Scope and content
Deeds, 1674-1905, relating to properties mainly in Radnorshire, including deeds of the town hall or market house, stalls and standings and tolls of corn on market and fair days within the borough of Knighton, and deeds of the collegiate church, college and chantry of Llanddewibrefi, Cardiganshire, and deeds relating to the manor of Norton, Radnorshire.
