Series BMA 2. - Rentals, first series,

This series consists of rentals of all or the most substantial part of the co. Mon. estate from 1612 to 1718 and it includes the earliest, extant rentals for the estate held by the Library The series contain substantial gaps and vary in terms of lands where rents were collected. All the rentals are arranged by man's apart from BMA2/1-2. Three of these rentals (BMA2/5, 9, 12) were exhibited in the Courts of Exchequer and Chancery in 1727 and 1731 respectively in a dispute between Henry, duke of Beaufort, infant, complainant, and John Scott and William Dunwoodie, gent's, defendants, and between Henry, duke of Beaufort, complainant, and Mathew Powell, esq., defendant.
