Administrative history
At a Convention held between 2 and 5 October 1917 in Cardiff, following the passing of the Welsh Church Act, 1914, it was decided that once the disestablished Church in Wales came into being (it did so on 31 March 1920), The Governing Body of the Church in Wales would be the Church's legislative body. Meeting either one or twice a year, the Governing Body consists of bishops (6 members), clergy (125 members, including 105 elected) and laity (210 members, including 180 elected), plus 8 non-elected members.
