Biographical history
The Rev. Simon Jones, Unitarian minister, was born in Cardiganshire in 1879. He attended Llwynrhydowen Unitarian Church as a child and was educated at Llandysul Grammar School. He graduated at Manchester Unitarian College in 1904. He ministered at Swansea, 1907-1918, and Nottingham, 1918-1934. He married Anne Mary Tydien Jones, eldest daughter of the Rev. R. J. Jones, in 1908.
In 1934, having retired, he and his wife came to live near Swansea. From 1938 until 1945 he ministered at Parcyfelfed Chapel in Carmarthen. He was a pacifist and during the First World War worked with the British Red Cross in France. He died in 1967.
