The series comprises a commonplace book, 1734, containing notes on Greek and Latin literature, ancient history, philosophy and science, other extracts and educational notes on similar subjects, 1820, 1841, 1925, and book lists, 1819-1830.

Addresses, reviews, etc., in the autograph of W. S. W. Vaux, dealing with subjects of literary, historical, and scientific interest, and including addresses delivered by Connop Thirlwall, bishop of St. Davids, in his capacity as President of the Royal Society of Literature, 1871-4.

The file comprises typescript circulars deriving from the activities of the Select Committee on Science and Technology of the House of Lords.
