A composite volume of sermons, 1809-12 and undated, with introductory prayers, by the Reverend Eliezer Williams. Among them are a sermon, 1809, on the Jubilee [of the accession of George III], and a sermon preached at 'Llanbedr [Lampeter, Cardiganshire], 20 September 1812.

A composite volume almost entirely in the hand of John Jones (1796-1857), Calvinistic Methodist minister, of Tal-sarn, Caernarvonshire, containing notes of sermons and (?)addresses and some extracts from printed religious works e.g. William Rees ('Gwilym Hiraethog'): Traethawd ar Grefydd Naturiol a Datguddiedig ... (Dinbych, 1841). One sermon is written partly on the dorse of a statement of account due from John Jones to Richard Jones [blacksmith], 1831.

A volume of holograph sermons of Richard Jones (1806-79), Congregational minister successively at Bala, Sirhywi, Manchester and Llanidloes. The sermons were written and/or delivered during the period 1828-30 when the author lived successively at his native Dolwyddelan, at Porthmadog and at Newtown Academy. At the end of the volume is a list of contents.

The material comprises two notebooks containing a holograph autobiography (the second volume also contains particulars of sales of the book by David Rees, Sylwadau .... a'r Lyfr y Pregethwr (Tregaron, 1890) and 'Nodiadau Dirwestol'); a pre-written memorial inscription in his own hand; sermons dated within the period 1874-98; a lecture entitled 'Darlith am Hên Lyfrau Cymraeg Cymru Gymreig; 1892; a letter from the Reverend Joseph Rees [Calvinistic Methodist minister] and Elisa Rees, Port[rhyd]fendigaid to their son [Thomas Rees, afterwards Calvinistic Methodist minister at Taffs Wells, Glamorgan] at Dowlais, Glamorgan (personal news, an account of the first sermon preached by the recipient's cousin Dafydd Rees, the recipient's schooling, a controversy among Cardiganshire ministers on the appropriate age of admission of children to church membership); a letter from D[avid] Rees, Bronant to R. J. Davies, Cwrtmawr, 1891 (an unpleasant situation at Borth Monthly Meeting in connection with the writer's college degrees) (with a draft reply); a letter from David Rees, Bronant to Mr J. [?M] Griffiths, student, Trevecca, n.d. [c. 1895-9] (encouragement and advice, in the form of a lengthy treatise, to the recipient and his fellow-students); an inscribed photograph of David Rees presented to J. H. Davies, Cwrtmawr; two printed works by David Rees, the one being an imperfect copy of Llyfr Adgofion &c (Machynlleth, 1896) and the other a broadsheet entitled 'Pren y Meddwyn. Y Pren Dirwestol' (1899); press cuttings of 'Ymweliad a Dr. Rees, Bronant, Sir Aberteifi' by D. M. Phillips, Tylorstown from Tarian y Gweithiwr, Medi-Hydref 1892; and a postcard from [Sarah Jane Rees] 'Cranogwen', Llangranog to J. M. Griffiths, Goginan, 1910 (promising a contribution to [Cofiant ... David Rees]).

A notebook, completed 20 October 1873, containing transcripts and extracts, from another manuscript, of sermons and sermon notes by Robert Thomas (1796-1866) of Llidiardau, Merioneth, Calvinistic Methodist preacher and 'character'. Some of the sermons are dated within the period 1823-72 and there are occasional annotations such as 'old', 'see cofiant' [i.e. Owen Jones, Hanes Bywyd Robert Tomos, Llidiardau (Wrexham, 1869)], 'good', 'later', etc. There are references to 'Cyfarfod Bibliau y Bala' (p. 74), 1847, 'Amser gwneyd Bethesda [i.e. Calvinistic Methodist chapel, Blaenau Ffestiniog] (p. 122), and to Cynll[w]yd [in Llanuwchllyn] and to Cwmtirmynach and Penmaen [in Llanfor] (p. 145). At the beginning of the volume is an index of texts which is almost complete.

Notebooks and loose papers containing notes of sermons by, and in the hand of, the Reverend Hugh Pugh of Llandrillo and Mostyn. Cwrtmawr MSS 985 and 986 appear to have been written during the period 1829-31, when the writer was at Llandrillo, while Cwrtmawr MS 987 was written some time later. There are notes with many of the sermons which indicate that they were later preached a number of times during the period 1837-1868.

A volume inscribed 'Evan Rowlands's Book July 9 1827' containing holograph sermons, 1827-30, in Welsh and English by the Reverend Evan Rowlands (1792-1861), minister of Capel Helyg and Rhos-lan Independent churches, Caernarfonshire, 1824-29, and of Ebenezer Independent Church, Pontnewynydd, near Pontypool, Monmouthshire, 1829-61. One of the sermons is dated 'at Braech [sic] y saint', another 'Tabor', and two 'Loyds Chapel'. Loose inside are a letter in Welsh, 1855, from E. Rowlands, Ebenezer to John Davies, (?) Cantwr, Silo, Abersychan (concerning the readiness of the Reverend Edward Williams, Dinas Mowddy [sic] to preach at Silo) and a sermon in English in the autograph of the Reverend Ebenezer Jones, Ebenezer, Pontypool, presented to [? John Myrddin Thomas] by Mrs Susanah Morgan, Newport, Monmouthshire, daughter of the Reverend Ebenezer Jones. [The Reverend Ebenezer Jones was the predecessor of the Reverend Evan Rowlands at Ebenezer.].
