William Cavendish, commonly called Marquesse of Hartington, son and heir-apparent of the said Duke of Devonshire, and the Rt Hon. James Cavendish, esq., second son of the said Duke of Devonshire. 5. John, Duke of Rutland, and John Hanbury of Pontpoole, co. Mon., esq. 6. Thomas Lewis of St Peer, co. Mon., esq., Edmund Probyn of Newland, Gloucestershire, esq., and Andrew Charlton of p. St James Westminster, Middlesex, esq. Settlement made before the marriage of the said William Morgan and Lady Rachel Cavendish, in consideration of £20,000 as marriage-portion, touching the following properties:- the manors of St Bride's, Sutton, Cogan Pembrook, Cogan Fleming, Fitz john le Moor, alias Fee John le Moor, Welsh Dowlas, English Dowlas, Hencourt, alias Oldcouirt, Marshfield, Wenllooge, Pencarne, Malpas, Redcastle, Youlton, and Machen in co. Mon.; the rectories of Marshfield, Malpas, St Mellons, and Rumpney, co. Mon.; the advowsons of Machen and Bedwas; Machen Forges in p's Machen and Ruddry, cos Mon. and Glam.; m's and lands in p's Machen, Ruddrey, Michaelstone Vedoe; and all the properties of the said William Morgan in the manors aforesaid and in the ht's and p's of Malpas, Bettus, Lanternum, Penteague, Peterstone, Youlton, St Mellons, Rumpney, Bedwas, Riska, Henllys, Monythusloin, Machen, Michaelstone Vedoe, and Bedwellty, co. Mon.; also the manors of Duffrin, Stowe, Mendlegieffe, Ebboth, Undy, Magor, Magor le Green Moor, Lanvihangel, Caldicot, Westend and Shirenewton, Lanvaches, Roggiet, Ifton, Lanvair Gillgidden, and Arnold Castle in co. Mon.; the capital m. called Tredegar in p. Bassalleg, with its appurtenances; the advowsons of Lanvair Gillgiddin, Roggiet and Ifton, Lanvaches, and Lanvihangel; and all the properties of the said William Morgan in the manors aforesaid and in the ht's and p's of St Woollos, Newport, Nash, Whiston, Goldcliffe, Caerleon, Lansore, Christchurch, Undy, Newchurch, Mathern, and Langattock-iuxta-Uske, all in co. Mon.; also lands in the manors of Liswerry and Rumpney; also the manor of Peterstone; the chapel, with the site of the manor of St Peter's in the Moore, and their appurtenances; and the parsonage of Rumpney, with its appurtenances, in the lordship of Wentlough, co.
