The archive remained in the possession of Sharon Penman until her death. It then passed into the care of her family, who transferred it to NLW.

Papers of Sharon Penman, [c.1982]-2021, relating to the writing and publication of her Welsh princes trilogy ('Here Be Dragons', 'Falls the Shadow' and 'The Reckoning'), including research papers, drafts of the novels and associated correspondence, publicity material and reviews, as well as a small amount of ephemera relating to her other work.
Appraisal, destruction and scheduling
All papers received by NLW have been retained, apart from some duplicated printed and photocopied material which has been removed.
