Biographical history
With the exception of a mortgage of 1814-1815, the provenance of these deeds is not clear. Connections existed between the families of Griffith, Salusbury and Myddelton through the marriages of Elizabeth Griffith to Robert Salusbury of Alltvaynan, around 1639, and John Griffith to Mary Myddelton of Gwaunynog, about 1670. There is a possibility that the deeds could relate to the lands in Llanrhaeadr which were in the possession of Robert Griffith of Garn by 1814. Robert Wynne of Plasnewydd had also owned land in that parish.
