Material relating to the history of the parish of Newmarket, including extracts from public records ('Welsh Records', Recognizance Rolls, Chamberlains' Accounts, 'Taxatio' of Pope Nicholas) and from Bodrhyddan estate muniments; a transcript of the boundaries of the parish made by John Calveley of Stapleford, 1813; transcripts of tombstone inscriptions; extracts from, and notes on, the parish registers; and notes and pedigrees from printed sources.

Two notebooks containing (a) a transcript of the tithe apportionment of the parish of Newmarket, 1844-6; and (b) a draft history of the parish and parish church of Newmarket, prepared at the suggestion of the rector, the Reverend Sydney Aurelius Jones, for inclusion in the minute book of the church. The history includes a lengthy description of 'Maen Achwyfan'.
