Note
Established in 1969, the Women's National Commission was a non-departmental public body which sought to advise the government on women's matters and to act as an umbrella body for women's groups in any dealings they might have with the government. The commission was disbanded in 2010 and its rĂ´le effectively taken over by the Minister for Women.
