Material relating to a sequence of poems titled 'Aberfan Voices', written by Tony Curtis and Grahame Davies to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster on 21 October 1966, when the catastrophic collapse of a colliery spoil tip situated above the South Wales village destroyed Pantglas Junior School and adjacent houses, killing 116 children and 28 adults, each poem accompanied at the readings by a displayed photograph taken by photojournalist and screenwriter I. C. (Chuck) Rapoport. Material includes tour schedule of poetry readings; draft and fair-copied poems; letter to Tony Curtis from Chuck Rapoport; and email correspondence between Tony Curtis, Grahame Davies and Ceri Wyn Jones, Editor of Books for Adults at Gomer Press.

I.C. (Churck) Rapoport is known both for his work as a photojournalist in the 1960s and more recently as a TV and film screenwriter. Rapoport's photography career is noted for his 'Life' magazine photo essay on the aftermath of the Aberfan disaster. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I._C._Rapoport)

Poet Ceri Wyn Jones was born in Welwyn Garden City and moved to west Wales as a child. He studied at Aberystwyth University and was for ten years Head of English at Llandysul Comprehensive School before joining Gomer Press in 2002. He won the Chair at the National Eisteddfod of Wales Bala in 1997, the Crown, again in Bala, in 2009 and the Chair at the National Eisteddfod of Wales Carmarthenshire in 2014.
