Assignments of demises originally made by Elizabeth I in 1593 and James I in 1607 and 1616/17, of the herring custom calles prise maes, otherwise castle maes, and a piece of land called the Conygre or Conigree on the north side of Aberystwyth Castle, together with a meadow in Dyffryn Clarach, to Richard Pryse of Gogerddan, 1594, 1608, and to Hector Phillipps of Gibbyland, Cardiganshire, and Thomas Lewes of Gelli Dywyll, Carmarthenshire, 1632. Previous asignees included Richard Awbrey the younger and Richard Budd of London.
