Attested Copy Will And Codicil of Sir John Wynn of Watstay, p. Ruabon, co. Denb., kt and bart (will dated 27 Feb. 1710/11, codicil dated 20 Apr. 1712). Devises man. Maynan [p. Eglwys-bach], co. Caern., and all his lands in p's Penmachno and Eglwysvach, co. Caern., and p. Llangernew, co. Denb., to Ellis Lloyd of Pen y Lan, co. Denb., esq., for life, together with the use of his household stuff and furniture in his capital m. in p. Eglwysvach; his larger tmt in Creoyse Enneion, p. Llansanfraid Glan Conway, co. Denb., which he purchased from William Robinson of Gwersyllt, esq., to [ ] Edwards of p. Ruabon and her son John Wynn, alias Edwards for their lives; the lesser tmt in Croyse Enneion aforesaid to his butler Joseph Garnett if he continues in testator's service at the time of his death, which tmt was also purchased from the said William Robinson; to James Phillips the elder, his former gardener, the farm where he now lives for his life and after the determination of the said devises the same together with the capital m. called Watstay, p. Ruabon, co. Denb., and all his other lands in cos Caern. and Denb. and Shropshire to Edward Jennings of the Inner Temple and Elihu Yale of Place-Gronow, Wrexham, in trust to convey the same to the use of his kinsman Watkin Williams, esq., son and heir apparent of Sir William Williams of Llanvorda, Shropshire, for life, to the use of W.W.'s eldest son (further uses specified). Numerous bequests to friends, kinsman and servants. Desires his executors to cause a decent monument of marble with his and his late wife's effigy on it to be erected in the chancel of the church of p. Ruabon, over or near the vault there and that he be buried in a lead coffin near his wife. By his codicil he devisees a m. situated in Ruddalt Teithing, p. Ruabon, and all his seats in the south aisle of the church there; which he purchased from William Williams of Havod y Bwlch, co. Denb., gent., and Mary his wife, after he made his will, to the uses specified above and appoints Sir William Williams as his executor in place of his kinsman Hugh, earl of Cholmondeley.
