The introduction (Latin) describes the papers as a register and record of names, lands and holdings of papists in the county of Monmouth, compiled from information given at the Quarter Sessions in 1717. The 'Abstract of the Register of Popish Recusants and Papists' ... arranged in alphabetical order of surname, consists of tables divided vertically into columns, with appropriate headings of name, description of property, where situated, name of tenant and the rent paid.
