  1. William Beket, with the consent of Reginald, his son and heir, Ellis and his other sons. 2. Geoffrey, son of William, son of Arthur for 2’s homage and service, of all 1’s land between the house which was his mother’s and the house which was Liuelnald’s, namely 6 acres of land, four of which lie near the strip of orchard and one by itself on the east side of the 4 acres mentioned and 2 half acres on the west side between the land of Liuelnald, and all 1’s meadow and thicket towards the moor between the croft of 1 and the croft of Edward, and all 1’s portion beyond Edward’s croft towards the moor, and 2 acres of meadow in Nordmed beyond the poultry-house? in the east part of 1’s meadow, for all services except the King’s service pertaining to one fardel (quarter-virgate) of land in freehold and a virgate of 1’s land at Wike [Somerset]. Consideration: 2½ marks to deliver 1 from the King’s prison, a silver brooch (‘firmaculum argenteum’) to Reginald and another to Ellis, gloves (‘c[h]irotecas’) to Ric’ and shoes (‘sotulares’) to Thomas. Annual rent: 3 half-pence. Witnesses: Henry de Portebiria, dean; A’, parson of Clopthon; R’ Briton of Porteshaued; William, son of Arthur; Robert de Weston; William de Montibus; Stephen the nobleman; A’ de Weston; John la Ware; William de Weston; Thomas, son of William; and Geoffrey the clerk.
