Papers, [16 cent.]-[early 20 cent.], mainly of Thomas Pennant and his son, David, and comprising accounts of tours in Britain and Europe; geographical, topographical and historical notes and transcripts, as well as notes on natural history; accounts of David Pennant; correspondence of Thomas and David Pennant; annotated printed works of Thomas Pennant, including copies, with manuscript and other additions and related papers, of Outlines of the Globe, a work in four volumes by Thomas Pennant published between 1798 and 1800; and papers relating to the Downing estate and to Flintshire.

The papers of Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, comprising material relating to his architectural projects, including the village of Portmeirion and the Voelas, Bodnant and Brondanw estates, 1907-1978; papers, minutes and agendas, 1930-1977, of the Council for the Protection of Rural England, the Council for the Protection of Rural Wales and the Advisory Committee on the Landscape Treatment of Trunk Roads; speeches given by Clough Williams-Ellis at various meetings; articles and reviews published by him in newspapers, journals and magazines, and articles published by others on his works; correspondence concerning articles to the press, his publications, fixtures, invitations to various meetings and dinners, letters from architects, artists and other prominent figures; letters, cards and other papers relating to landmarks in his life, such as the conferring of a CBE and knighthood and the celebration of birthdays and his diamond wedding anniversary; and drafts of autobiographies and other writings, 1952-1978.

Papers and manuscripts, [1540x1600]-1835, from the library of Dr William Owen-Pughe of Mysevin, relating primarily to Welsh literature and culture and to antiquarian subjects. The material includes correspondence addressed mainly to William Owen-Pughe, with a smaller number addressed to his son, Aneurin Owen, from prominent contemporary antiquarian and literary figures, including Edward Williams ('Iolo Morganwg'), Owen Jones ('Owain Myfyr'), Theophilus Jones, Richard Llwyd, Sir Richard Colt Hoare, Richard Fenton, Thomas Pennant and Edward ('Celtic') Davies; volumes and papers in the hand of William Owen-Pughe, 'Iolo Morganwg' and others; manuscripts and printed papers relating to the Gwyneddigion Society, the Cymreigyddion Society and the Cymmrodorion; diary entries of William Owen-Pughe, 1811-1835; and transcripts of unpublished letters and papers, 1792-1820, of the writer and prophet Joanna Southcott. Deeds, documents, and papers, 1621-1831 (largely middle-late 17th century), acquired by Kyrle Fletcher mostly relating to Monmouthshire. The main group relates to the Jones family of Llanarth, Monmouthshire, 1621-early 19th century, and includes some items relating to the Civil War. Minor groups of deeds, documents and papers concern the Nicholas family of Lansoy and Penrose, Monmouthshire, 17th century, and the Evans family of St Mellons, Monmouthshire, and Llanedern and Whitchurch, Glamorgan, late 18th-early 19th centuries.

The collection known as the Archdeacon A. O. Evans Manuscripts is a group of manuscripts given to the National Library by Albert Owen Evans. They include correspondence and papers relating to A. O. Evans.
