Armed Forces Act 2006 (Amendment)

Speech notes, correspondence, reports and press cuttings relating to the amendment made to the Armed Forces Act of 2006, which granted posthumous pardons to armed forces personnel executed for 'cowardice' and/or 'desertion' during the First World War. Speech notes dated 7 November.

Anti-Smacking Campaign

Papers related to a long running campaign to ban smacking children, through removal of the "reasonable chastisement" in Welsh law. The file includes correspondence with Assembly Members, Ministers, legal officials and the Director of Public Prosecutions, Keir Starmer and an opinion from the First Minister, Carwyn Jones indicating that he believed the law was within the competence of the Assembly. The file also contains drafts of speeches given by Christine Chapman, articles and press releases, annotated drafts of legislation, letters from private citizens giving their opinion on the legislation and papers giving international comparisons.

Another Country: Haiku Poetry from Wales

Material relating to the compilation and publication of Another Country: Haiku Poetry from Wales, to which Nigel Jenkins contributed and which he co-edited with Ken Jones and Lynne Rees.
