Merioneth, including an essay (62 pp.) on 'Hynafiaethau a Hynafiaid Ardal Celyn' [Cwm Celyn, parishes of Llanfor and Llanycil], by ' O letty'r chwilotwr', 1927; two short essays (19 pp. and 11 pp. respectively) on 'Hen Dyddynnod a Bythynod Dadfeiliedig Cwmtirmynach [ parish of Llanfor], ynghyd a preswylwyr olaf', the one by 'Brysiog', and the other bearing no name or pseudonym; a short essay (17 pp.) on 'Edward Jones y Wenallt' [? parish of Llanfor], by R. Price, Llansilin; notes by John Hughes on 'Hen Dyddynod Ardal y Parc'; notes by R. Prys Jones on 'Edward Foulke, Coedyfoel, Bala', who emigrated to America, 1698; and a copy of a paper on 'Hen Dyddynod Adfeiliedig y Plwy [ Llanuwchllyn], ag adgofion am rai o'u preswylwyr', read by Edw[ard] Edwards, to the Young People's Society of Yr Hen Gapel [the Congregational church, Llanuwchllyn]. Some of the essays noted were submitted for competition at local literary meetings.

Abraham, Robert Lewys, Rowland David, Robt. Thomas, Ro[wlan]d Jo[ne]s, John Niccolas ('or Llysendy'?), Hugh Lloyd Cynfel, Hugh Maurice, Efan Dew, Wm. Llyn, Sion Phylip, Bedo Hafesb, Simon Sion [Jones] (Blaen y Cwm Gynllwyd), John Cadwalader, Ellis William ('or wergloddu'), Thomas Evans, Llewelun Jones, Llywelyn Cadw[alad]r?, Lewis Jones (Tymawr), John Fychan, Dafydd Manuel, and Lewis or plas, together with anonymous compositions. The volume has an obvious association with the Llanuwchllyn area of Merioneth. The greater part of it was written apparently by Richard Hughes, Pentre, circa 1761.
