A composite volume in the autograph of Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd') containing (?)essays or addresses (prefaced 'Sketches & Stories') on 'Nodweddiad Cenedlaethol', 'Darllenyddiaeth', etc., with a 'Hir a Thoddaid' beginning 'Wyneb y Genedl o hen Baganiaeth', (?) an adjudication on 'Darlleniaeth', with verses entitled 'Darlleniaeth yr Ysgrythyr', a translation into English by Bl. ab C. of six lines from Eben Fardd's 'Dinystr Jerusalem', a notebook bearing on the cover the words 'Dechreu yr ysgol yn yr Eglwys', containing memoranda, accounts, etc., 1824-9, relating mainly to Clynnog school, 1827-8 (names of scholars), with some earlier references to Llangybi and Llanarmon, a list of poems by Goronwy Owen with the year of their composition, and a copy of the protest presented to Lord Mostyn following the awarding of the chair prize at the Rhuddlan Eisteddfod, 1850, for a 'pryddest' instead of an 'awdl', with a copy of Lord Mostyn's reply.

A miscellaneous volume (496 pp.; original pagination incorrect) in the autograph of Owen Williams (1790-1874; 'Owain Gwyrfai'), c. 1841-67, of which the main contents are pedigrees of North Wales families transcribed from manuscripts of the Reverend D. Ellis [Cricieth] and Owen Gruffydd, Llanystumdwy and from other sources (with some additions to Owen Williams's own day); transcripts of twenty-four letters, 1752-7 and 1767, from Goronwy Owen to Richard Morris from a (?)manuscript of Mr Loyd [sic], Plasmeini, Festiniog and of eleven letters, 1752-4, from Goronwy Owen to William Morris ('D.S. Dyma lythyrau'r Gwiliedydd im tyb i. O.W.', but this seems doubtful), and extracts transcribed from the introduction to Lewis Morris's 'Celtic Remains' and from [John Reynolds, A Display of Herauldry (1739)] ('Yr hanesion canlynol a dynwyd o hen lyfr achau a argraffwyd o ddeutu amser Cromwel o waith Reinols'). There is a rough index at the beginning and end of the volume. J. H. Davies has written the following note in pencil on the fly-leaf: 'This is the Llyfr Coch which O[wen] W[illiams] always carried under his arm at Eisteddfodau & Literary meetings. It was originally bound in a red cover.'.

Corrected page-proofs of [J. H. Davies (ed.), The Letters of Goronwy Owen (Cardiff, 1924), pp. i-vi, 1-207. The date 'Oct. 1923' is stamped on the first page of the Introduction (which is shorter than that in the book as printed) and Appendix XI and the indices are wanting in the proofs.

A collection of letters to David Jones of Trefriw ('Dewi Fardd') from Lewis Morris, 1757-1759; Richard Morris, 1759-1767; their nephew John Owen, 1758; Margaret Davies of Coedcaedû, 1758; the Reverend Evan Evans ('Ieuan Brydydd Hir'), 1776; Owen Jones ('Owain Myfyr'), 1776-1778; John Powel of Llansannan (with a 'cywydd'), 1766; John Williams (with drafts of letters in the hand of David Jones), 1764; and copies of letters by Richard Morris to [Zachary Pearce], bishop of Bangor, 1753, concerning Goronwy Owen, 1752, and to [George Parker] Lord Macclesfield for the loan of the manuscripts of William Jones, F.R.S. The contents of pp. 53-60, 73, 75, 86-9, 91, 143-206, 209-17, 233-8, and 279-90 consist mainly of lists or groups of Welsh words and phrases sometimes with English definitions and/or illustrative excerpts from the works of Welsh poets. Some of these lists or groups contain words extracted from one source such as poems by, or attributed to, Taliesin, or to be found in 'The Book of Taliesin', John Bunyan: Taith y Pererin, William Wotton: Cyfreithieu Hywel Dda . . . (London, 1730), etc. P. 13 is inscribed 'Glynn Papers 1821. Customs of the Manor of the Lordship of Coity Wallia. From a Copy in the Hand Writing of Richard Jenkins, Esqr., of Hensol Castle, Glamorgan, 1714', and is followed (pp. 17-27) by an incomplete copy of the presentments of a jury of survey for the lordship and manor of Coyty Wallia aforesaid [co. Glamorgan], 1631 [/2].
