[A transcript of] Alfred of Beverley's Historia de gestis regalibus regum Britannie videlicet a Bruto Britonum rege primo usque ad Normanorum tempora .
There are two slips of parchment either end of the manuscript: the first is part of a 16th century deed bearing the signature of one George Hygons; the second part is a letter from T. Duffus Hardy, Public Record Office to W. W. E. Wynne, 30 January 1863.

One of six volumes consisting of several hundred letters ranging in date from the late eighteenth century to about the middle of the nineteenth, and addressed mainly to Walter Davies, with some to his daughter Jane, to John Jenkins, and to John Vaughan, from numerous correspondents connected with various aspects of Welsh life and including: Rowland Williams (Meifod, aft. of Ysceifiog), Taliesin Williams (Taliesin ab Iolo), William Williams (Aberpergwm), William Williams (Caledfryn), William Williams (Cowbridge Free School), William Williams (Llandegai) W. Wynne, Peniarth (Archaeologia Cambrensis, replying to queries and requesting assistance himself, Sir Watkin's uneasiness about [Gruffydd] Roberts's grammar and his wish to have it returned (from Paris), sympathy, an invitation to the addressee to Peniarth).

Salop', with pencil additions and alterations in the hand of W. W. E. Wynne, Peniarth. To the printed list of thirty-two manuscripts Wynne has added descriptions of a further seven.

The correspondents include Lewis Owen (1625-1691); Richard Owen (d. 1714); Lewis Owen (d. 1729), son of Richard Owen; Elizabeth Owen, mother of the latter Lewis Owen; Margaret Owen, wife of the latter Lewis Owen and daughter of Sir William Williams, second bart, of Llanforda; Jane Bulkeley (d. 1765), daugher of Lewis and Margaret Owen; Hugh Nanney; and Richard Nanney. Other correspondents include Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt, and there are letters from Margaret Owen to her father, Sir William Williams.
There is an introductory note by William W[atkin] E[dward] Wynne at the beginning of the volume, which states that "all the letters addressed to Sir William Williams, Bart., were found in the muniment room at Wynnstay, and were given to me ... in October 1833 by the Rt Honble C. W. Williams Wynn". There is a reference in the note to Dr Samuel Johnson in relation to the education of girls and women.

A printed sale catalogue 'of the library of the late Francis Smith, esq., to which is added another valuable collection ... which will be sold by auction, by Mr Evans, at his house, No. 93 Pall Mall ... 1829'. The catalogue contains the books sent by W. W. E. Wynne (see Peniarth MS 549).

A volume containing a copy in a mid-seventeenth century hand of 'History of the Gwydir Family' by Sir John Wynn of Gwydir, Caernarvonshire (ff. 8-73 verso). It is an early copy of a recension of the work represented by thirteen other copies (see below).
The text is here followed by pedigrees of and memoranda relating to the Wynn family of Gwydir and its collateral branches in several late seventeenth- or early eighteenth-century hands including that of Humphrey Humphreys, bishop of Bangor, afterwards of Hereford (ff. 75 verso-6, 79 verso-80); he has also added a marginal note on f. 63. Inserted later are a receipt, 1551, and a letter, 1599/1600, in the hand of Sir John Wynn (ff. 83a, 84a-b); and two notes, 1878 and [n.d.], relating to the volume, in the hand of W. W. E. Wynne, Peniarth (ff. 86a, 87a).

A volume containing abstracts, [late 19 cent.], of official correspondence and documents dated 1485-1645, arranged chronologically, relating to members of the Owen family of Clenennau; the original letters are to be found among the Clenennau Letters and Papers in NLW, Brogyntyn Estate and Family Records.
Tipped in is a short account, [mid-18 cent.], of 'The civil War between K. Charles 1st & his Parliament', with the note 'To be put in Manuscript cupboard, WWEW' added in pencil in the hand of W. W. E. Wynne, Peniarth (ff. 29, 30).

A transcript by David Richards ('Dafydd Ionawr') of a letter sent 23 July 1767 from Brunswick, Virginia by Goronwy Owen to Richard Morris, London, and also of the elegy on Lewis Morris which accompanied it; a sketch, made for W[illiam] W[atkin] E[dward] Wynne, 1839, of the seal of the Corporation of Harlech, 1559.

Rob' and R. Jones).

A manuscript containing transcripts by Angharad Llwyd (1780-1866) of North Wales pedigrees, of a letter, 1656, from Edmund Meyrick (1636-1713), Ucheldre, to his brother-in-law Robert Vaughan (1592?-1666), Hengwrt, of the arms of several English families, and of miscellaneous correspondence, 17-18 cents, etc. The manuscript also contains letters to Angharad Llwyd and various other miscellanea.

A manuscript containing North Wales pedigrees, mainly of Anglesey and Caernarfonshire families; transcripts by Angharad Llwyd (1780-1866) of other Welsh pedigrees and of legal and historical records; letters to Angharad Llwyd from Sir Samuel Rush Meyrick (1783-1848), John Hughes, barrister, and W. A facsimile manuscript in two parts mostly in the hand of William Watkin Edward Wynne. The first part comprises copies (some printed) of charters, public records, deeds, pedigrees, poetry, etc. of Merionethshire and Caernarvonshire interest, some of which are taken from transcripts made by Robert Vaughan, Hengwrt. The material includes records and pedigrees relating to the Wynn family of Peniarth; notes on the Maurice and Owen families of Clenennau, Penmorfa, Caernarvonshire, with related deeds possibly in the hand of William Maurice of Llansilin; deeds relating to the Porkington estate; an extent of the commote of Eifionydd, 1352; an extract from the Coroner's Rolls for Merionethshire, 1345; charters of Castell y Bere and Harlech Castle; pedigrees of Madog ap Dafydd of Hendwr, Llandrillo, Merionethshire; an ode to Einion ap Gruffydd of Corsygedol by Gruffudd Gryg; odes to Dafydd ab Ieuan ab Einion by Guto'r Glyn and Dafydd Nanmor; letters addressed to W. W. E. Wynne, the correspondents including Walter Davies ('Gwallter Mechain'); etc. The second part is also mostly in the hand of W. W. E. Wynne and again comprises material mainly of Merionethshire and Caernarvonshire interest, including pedigrees, correspondence, deeds, etc. relating to the Porkington estate and to the Maurice family and to the Wynne family of Glyn and Ystumcegid, Caernarvonshire; poetry relating to members of the Wynn family of Glyn by Huw Machno, Rhisiart Cynwal and others (one elegy translated into English); press cuttings taken from the Cambrian News, 1879; letters addressed to W.
