A short account, mainly biographical, of Lewis Edwards, Bala, possibly written for competition at an eisteddfod at Corwen, 5 August 1889.

The file comprises an album kept by O. M. Edwards while he was an undergraduate student at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. It contains a large number of autographs, poems and cuttings, various notes, and several letters addressed to Edwards. The correspondents include J. Mortimer Angus, Lewis Edwards, Y Bala, Thomas Charles Edwards (2), Ellis Jones Ellis-Griffith, John Edward Lloyd and John H. Puleston. There is also a stray letter written by O. M. Edwards.

A composite volume containing day and memoranda books of Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd') and of his children James E[benezer] Thomas and Catherine Thomas. They include a few diary entries of Catherine Thomas, 1846-9; parish relief accounts of Catherine Thomas and others, 1847-56; Old Testament annals; a catechism; biographical notes (dates and times of births, etc.) on members of the family of 'Eben Fardd'; poetry by James E. Thomas entitled 'Englynion Iago Fardd' and 'Cynnygion at Farddoniaeth gan Iago Fardd pan yn 16 oed'; log entries relating to Bangor British School, 1850, and particulars of qualifications required of pupil teachers, etc.; particulars of qualifications required of candidates for admission to Bala [CM] College, extracted from a letter from the Principal, L[ewis] Edwards to 'Eben Fardd', 1842; questions and answers on Scripture history and on English history; essays on 'Perseverance', 'Liberty', 'Wonders of Creation', 'The Memory', and 'Peace of Conscience' by James E. Eighteen letters to D. Silvan Evans, seventeen of which, 1870-98, are from T[homas] C[harles] Edwards, Liverpool, Aberystwyth and Bala (bibliographical and lexicographical matters, matters in connection with the University College, Aberystwyth, the writer's paper on Salesbury, Dr Lewis Edwards's translation of Cowper's hymn 'God moves in a mysterious way') and one, [18]76, from E. P[enllyn] Jones, University College, Aberystwyth. The last three letters from T. C. Edwards are in another hand except for the signature.
