A number of adjudications are for competitions at school and chapel eisteddfodau, but also include adjudications of the BBC radio short story competition, 1950-1951, with letters from Gwyn Jones (9), Aneirin Talfan (5) and A. G. Prys-Jones; the Arts Council Poetry Award, 1956, which contains letters from Gwyn Jones (5); a competition sponsored by the Welsh Arts Council to translate a poem by Waldo Williams, 1970, with letters from Elan Closs Roberts (4), T. J. Morgan, Gwyn Williams and Waldo Williams (photocopy, 1963); and the Poetry Society Dylan Thomas Award 1984, with a letter from Susan Hill.

The file comprises manuscript, typescript and printed copies of stories, [1930x1944], included in The water music (London, 1944), with some related notes. In addition the file contains letters, 1944-1947, 1951, and 1966, mostly from the publishers, George Routledge and Sons Ltd (later Routledge and Kegan Paul Ltd), including letters from E. The file comprises scripts which all appear to be radio broadcasts, including manuscript drafts, 1945-1982 (with gaps), a number of which are reviews by Glyn Jones of various books. Included are scripts of a tribute to Idris Davies, 'I was born in Rhymney', [1953], 'The dream of Jake Hopkins', 1953, (with a cutting and image relating to the work), 'The misfortunes of Princess Heledd', 1954, an excerpt from The learning lark, 1958, tributes to Henry Treece, 1966, Vernon Watkins, 1967, and Aneirin Talfan Davies, 1980, and an interview regarding Selected poems, 1976. In addition, the file includes scripts of a talk by Gwyn Thomas, 'Present indicative', 1955; and 'Anglo Welsh writing. The bells of Rhymney - Idris Davies' which includes comments by Glyn Jones, 1982; and an undated Welsh translation by Glyn Jones of a script delivered by Jack Jones.

The file comprises correspondence, including draft letters by Glyn Jones, 1923-1994 (with gaps), mostly personal letters which appear to be from friends and relatives. Some items also relate to literary works, broadcasts etc. by him, and to his position as member of the Drama Sub-committee of the Arts Council of Great Britain Welsh Committee, 1961-1962, and as a member of Yr Academi Gymreig (English Language Section), 1978-1979, 1981. Among the correspondents are Roland Mathias, Aneirin Talfan Davies, Elwyn Evans, John Elwyn (2), John Greve (3, including a copy of a talk by him on the work of Glyn Jones, broadcast 1958), John Ackerman Jones, Leslie Norris (3), and John Ormond. Some letters are addressed to newspaper editors and a few were sent by various correspondents to Doreen Jones. In addition, the file includes lists of letters sent and received by Glyn Jones, 1960x1985.

Many of the drafts are incomplete, many only of the first paragraph of the letter. There is also a short note from D. Gwenallt Jones, 1957.
