Notes and transcripts, [1968]-[1973], from various volumes and historical works on David Lloyd George, together with some press cuttings.

'Ode to Charity', a translation into English [by Ebenezer Thomas ('Eben Fardd')] of the 'awdl' on the subject 'Elusengarwch' by David Owen ('Dewi Wyn o Eifion'). The translator's name is not given but a note at the top of the first page reads 'Rec'd a Sovereign from J. Maughan Esqr. for Translating this'. There are some notes and emendations in pencil in another hand. On the last page, following the translation, are thirty-eight lines of an elegy in Welsh, (?) incomplete, on the death of [Frederick, Duke of York]. Pasted in at the beginning is a press cutting headed 'Darlith i'r Saeson. Araeth Mr Lloyd George. Bywyd a Barddoniaeth Cymru' giving an account of an address Lloyd George gave as chairman of a concert at Llanystumdwy.

Family papers, 1880-1990, of Lady Olwen Carey-Evans, comprising her correspondence, notebooks, scrapbooks, and other personal papers (including some papers of her son, Robin Carey-Evans), 1911-1990, and papers, press cuttings, memorabilia, diaries, notes, essays and other items relating to members of her family including Margaret Lloyd George, 1880-1941, Megan Lloyd George, 1928-1983, and Sir Thomas Carey Evans, 1901-1947; there is also a small group of papers, 1898-1970, relating to David Lloyd George.

Miscellaneous items, 1859-1967, mainly printed, typescripts and press cuttings, relating to David Lloyd George, earl Lloyd-George of Dwyfor (1863-1945) and his second son Gwilym Lloyd-George, 1st Viscount Tenby (1894-1967). They include certified copies of the marriage certificates of William George and Elizabeth Lloyd (Lloyd George's parents), 1859, and Gwilym Lloyd-George and Edna Gwenfron Jones, 1921, and leaflets produced in support of Gwilym Lloyd-George's candidature as the Conservative candidate for Newcastle-upon-Tyne North, 1951 and 1955.

Letters mainly of a personal nature, including a letter concerning the Presentation Goblet to the Queen and Prince Phillip, 1972; a letter from the Royal Institute of British Architects, concerning Sir Clough Williams-Ellis's election as an honorary member; a letter from the University of Wales offering an honorary degree; and letters from the following: Sir Frederick Gibberd; Sir Frederick Osborn; Jonah Jones; James Morris; Earl Lloyd George of Dwyfor; Charles, Lord Aberconwy; Francois Spoerry; Christabel, Lady Aberconway; Augustus John; the Rt Hon. Richard Crossman, MP; Sir Dingle Foot; Henry, Marquis of Anglesey, and other politicians, artists and members of the gentry and the aristocracy, 1930-1976; together with thirteen letters from Lewis Mumford, 1957-1975, and a copy of an article by him, 1930, 'The Wavy Line Versus the Cube', and a photograph of Sir Clough Williams Ellis and Mumford.

Includes a photograph of Lloyd George, Dame Margaret and Megan, c. 1930; brochures, c. 1930-1933, advertising Gareth Jones's lecture tours in the United States; and miscellaneous stray items concerning his travels.

Copies of 22 speeches given by Dame Margaret Lloyd George (1918-1921) relating to politics, charity functions, social work for the poor and the war wounded, the opening of schools, exhibitions, bazaars, an unveiling of a war memorial, presentations of awards, and addresses to major conventions. Also contains transcribed copies of the speeches, and also contains notes by the donor (grandson of Rev J.T Rhys) providing additional contextual information (2019). A booklet titled 'Mrs. Lloyd George Goes to Lampeter: 17th June 1919, A Rhys/Rees Story in Three Parts ' (see JTR MLG SP4 Lampeter Cardiganshire Liberals 17th June 1919) written by the donor is also included; originally a supplement to an exhibition in Lampeter Museum and a prior publication 'A Lampeter Family Story 1870-1971'.
Also contains copies of four letters from Viscountess Nancy Astor, 3 of which are to Mrs Lloyd-George, and 1 to JTR. Notes regarding the information and context of the letters from the donor are included.

The memoranda include a list of recruits for the period January-July 1916; memoranda on the stokes gun, co-operation between GHQ and the Ministry of Munitions, Lloyd George's proposed visit to France; H. W. V. Temperley, 'Political Influences in connection with Strategy and Diplomacy'; memoranda on fuses, bombs, red flares etc.; the Army Pay Department; details of committees set up to advise the War Office Contracts Advisory Committee; memoranda on canteens and refreshment houses, trench mortars and ammunition, and the Debenham recommendations.

The letter includes englynion composed by him in memory of family and friends (ff. 12-20), which were to be published in his forthcoming book O Greigiau'r Grug (Denbigh, 1930), pp. 25-32.
