A collection of some fifty-seven miscellaneous autograph letters, 1686/7-1930, mostly of Welsh interest, brought together by the dealer and collector Edward Hall, Surbiton.
Eighteen of the letters are correspondence of the barrister J. W. Buck, his wife Sophia (née Brigstoke, of Blaenpant, Cardiganshire), his sister Mrs Sarah Whittaker and their respective families, 1792-1825 (ff. 5-8, 10-43). Twelve letters, 1851, from various Welsh boroughs to H. W. R. Davey, Mayor of Beccles, Suffolk, relate to requests for copies of their borough seals (ff. 48-62). Mainly unidentified portraits anf group photos presumed to be connected with urdd Gobaith Cymru. Some are duplicated.Includes a number of strays from elsewhere in the collection.

Photographs documenting Urdd activities, predominantly those at Llangrannog from the 1960s and early 1970s. Also many photos of amateur dramatic performances. However most are not annotated and the full details therefore not known. Most appear to be the work of professional photographers.

Contains many photographs of groups and individuals without annotation, also abstract photos used in competitions, art reproductions etc etc.

Includes views of camp activities in Llangrannog, two group photos of early camps, one at Llangollen; amateur dramatic performances and school groups. Most have not been annotated.

Mainly b&w photos of animals from around the world. Included are indigenous mammals such as Wood Mouse and otter; insects, fish, also British domestic animals (inc ponies from the Llanarth stud). There are also a number of photos of hyenas, lions etc from game parks in East Africa; Kitsch shots of children with animals; zoo animals, pets etc. Of particular interest is a still from the BBC Drama 'It's a Dogs Life' starring Ruth Madoc, a photo of a fisherman who encountered the Loch Ness Monster (details on reverse of photo) and behind the scenes views from London Zoo.

Mainly portraits of Welsh professional soccer players. Also included are team photos of Swansea City, Cardiff City and Wrexham and press photos of various top flight and international games. Most are annotated on the reverse. Most are the work of Press Agencies and local / regional newspapers.

Mainly photographs of actors on stage, television sets or in character. The majority are of Welsh language television programes of the 1970s and 1980s such as Miri Mawr, Jeifin Jenkins, Yr Awr Fawr, Bilidowcar etc.
