Title deeds of miscellaneous houses and lands in the townships of Uwch-y-coed and Is-y-coed in the parish of Penegoes, Montgomeryshire, 1558-1674. Boundary clauses include the rivulets Carrog and Dewlas, Dolguog, the old Dyfi (Dovey) bridge, Y Domen Vawr and Y Domen Vedw. Deeds of the Pughe family comprise a final concord naming Richard ap Hugh ap Ieuan, 1573; a mortgage to Rowland Pughe of Mathafarn, of lands at Aberdulas and Y Pwll Dyu, 1574; a sale deed of land at Maes Penegoes to Rowland Pughe, 1586/7; a deed for the sale of meadows (named) at Uwch-y-coed to Richard Pughe of Dolyrafonddu, Llanwrin, 1612; and a release by Robert Pughe to Richard Pughe of Tythyn y Llain Fforchog, Kay Vallen Tudder and Kay'r Werne at Eskair Rhwraynog, and a toft or site of a former house at Aberhirnant, 1628/9. Other properties include Tythyn Esgir Wyddgryg, in a family settlement of Griffith ap Res ap Grif of Uwch-y-coed, 1557/8, and mortgaged by his son, Lewis ap Griff' ap Res, 1571; Tyddyn Ros y Garreg and Tir Rynald, mortgaged by Henry ap Ll'n ap Mores of Machynlleth to Ll'n ap Res ap Ieuan ap Gwilkok, 1568-1571; Tothyn Braich Always and Cover y Garreg Lloid, belonging to Richard and Oliver Harbart (Herbert), 1603[x1616]. There is also evidence of a family settlement by William Blesse of Darowen and Elinor his wife, one of the daughters and co-heiresses of Morgan David Owen of Llanwrin, deceased, to provide Bridgett Griffith of Llanwrin, widow, with a third part of a messuage called Y Greiglen Dduy Ucha, 1674.
