Biographical history

John Petts (1914-1991), artist, was best known for his engravings and stained glass. With his first wife, artist and writer Brenda Chamberlain, Petts set up the Caseg printing press in Llanllechid in 1937.

Papers, 1934-1991, of or relating to artist John Petts and which includes correspondence, 1934-1968, from Petts's first wife, writer and artist Brenda Chamberlain, and others, including Alun Lewis, Kyffin Williams, John Piper, Gwynfor Evans, the Golden Cockerel Press and the Golden Grove Book Company, mainly relating to his artistic work; together with artwork by both Petts and Brenda Chamberlain, and biographical notes, [c. 1971], relating to Petts.
