Includes the marriage settlement of James Lewis of Glasgrige, Cardiganshire, son of Lowry (widow of John Lewis) now wife of John Pughe, and Mary Lloyd of Crynvryn, comprising Llwydiarth Issa in Tal-y-llyn, 1677; a deed associated with settlements by Thomas Pryse of Gogerddan and Maria Charlotta [nee Pughe], of the manor of Cyfeiliog and other properties of the Mathafarn estate in Machynlleth, Llanbryn-mair, Llanwrin, Penegoes, Cemais, Darowen, Mallwyd and Trefeglwys, 1742, and a rental of the Mathafarn estate of Thomas Pryse, showing the jointure of Mrs Elizabeth Pughe; a bond for the reconveyance to John Pughe of Lloydiarth Ycha and Tythyn Y Glynrhod in Ceiswyn and Cwmcadian, mortgaged in 1640 to secure payment of the marriage portion of Mary Pughe, 1662; the grant of an annuity by John Pughe of Mathafarn to Evan Pughe of Bryn Melin, ‘practisioner in phisick’, 1671; a demise by Anne Pughe of Mathafarn to William Pughe, of the capital messuage of Mathafarn and other (named) properties, delivered to her following an action of dower in the Court of Great Sessions, 1674; an assignment by Thomas Ingram of Llangurig to Richard Owen of Peniarth, of tithes held from the Stedmans of Strata Florida and mortgages on properties in Llanfihangel Genau’r-glyn, as additional security for lands in Llangurig, comprised in his marriage settlement with Anne Pughe of Aberffrydlan, 1705; part of a draft conveyance from ‘Mr Lewis’ to William and John Pughe, of the manor of Cyfeiliog, probably relating to the marriage settlement of John Pughe and Elizabeth Scudamore, [c.1708]; and parts of family conveyances of properties in Machynlleth, naming Jane, Anne and Margaret Pughe, 1716, 1727.
