A kind of album belonging at one time perhaps to a Mrs Bayley, containing a 'Catalogue Raisonnee [sic] of Family Mottos' [of various dukes and earls, each motto accompanied by a satirical comment in verse] (2pp.), and miscellaneous items mainly of verse, some in the form of press-cuttings pasted into the vol. The cuttings include a copy of the ballad containing the story of Gelert's grave at Beddgelert by [William Robert Spencer], a speech by Mr [Charles James] Fox containing a tribute to the late Duke of Bedford, an obituary notice also concerning Francis Russell, fifth Duke of Bedford (dec. 1802), and an extract from a speech by [Richard Watson], bishop of Landaff in the House of Lords on the motion of the Duke of Bedford, [27 Jan. 1795].
