I hope you have received my earlier petitions by now. Since you left for Murshidabad and later returned to Calcutta I have not received any reply from you. Before leaving for Murshidbad you assured me that after meeting Nawab Shuja al-Mulk Bahadur you will send me a parvanah issued by him with his own seal granting the districts of Malda, Talaj [?] and the mahall belonging to the jagir of Nawab Samsam al-Daulah Bahadur Mansurjang to me. As I have not received this document I am feeling many difficulties. In this respect I would like to bring to your notice that Khvajah Muhammadi Khan who was in Malda lately, does not have good relations with Kamgar Khan. I happened to be present in Kamgar Khan's pargana when Muhammadi Khan attacked us and killed seven of our men and injured fifteen people. My people had no option but to respond and killed six of their men and injured a similar number. Muhammadi Khan bears a grudge against me and wishes that I should return to Azimabad. Because of this he has been complaining against me to Shuja al-Mulk Bahadur. As I do not consider anyone else but you as the sole authority I appeal to you to intervene and write to the Nawab Sahib to take appropriate action against Muhammadi Khan. As Nawab Nasir al-Mulk is with you in Calcutta at present it is suggested that you ask him to procure the aforesaid parvanah from the Nawab Sahib and send it to me
