Scope and content
A small volume (167 pp.) in the autograph of Owen Jones ('Manoethwy'; 1838-66) containing transcripts of 'cywyddau', 'awdlau', etc. by various poets. A note on p. 122 reads 'Adysgrifiwyd o ddechreu y llyfr hyd yma o ysgriflyfr Carndochan [ i.e. Cwrtmawr MS 242 ] yr hwn a gynnwysai rai cywyddau yn ychwaneg, ond nad ydoedd yn angenrheidiol eu hadysgrifio, herwydd eu bod mewn ysgriflyfrau ereill yn fy meddiant - O[wen] J[ones] Awst 27ain. 1861'. Of the remainder, pp 141-167 appear to have been transcribed from Cwrtmawr MS 207 (see p.167 of the present manuscript) and the intervening pages (123-140) may have been transcribed for the most part from a source similar to Cwrtmawr MS 243. The cross references in pencil are in the hand of J. H. Davies.
