Scope and content

Four holograph letters to David Griffiths [the compiler of the Biblical concordance contained in the five preceding manuscripts, NLW MSS 12721- 12725B], from [the Reverend] Roger Edwards, Mold, 1882, Llewelyn I. Evans, Bournemouth, 1889, [the Reverend] N[athaniel] Cynhafal Jones, Llanidloes, 1886, and [the Reverend] Owen Thomas, Liverpool, 1882 (comments on the proposed scheme or pattern of the concordance, ? based upon specimen pages or sheets); a ? holograph note, also, by inference, to the said David Griffiths, from [the Reverend] J[ohn] Jones ('Vulcan'), undated (a comment on a specimen [page or sheet] of the proposed concordance); a holograph letter to Messrs. P. M. Evans & Son., from Hugh Jones, North Wales Baptist College, Llangollen, 1882 (the writer's belief that the publication of a Biblical concordance, which would be more comprehensive than that of Peter Williams [Y Mynegeir Ysgrythurol (1773)], would be a service to the Welsh nation, examples of some shortcomings of the Peter Williams concordance, comments on a specimen [page or sheet] of a [proposed] concordance sent to the writer [probably that of David Griffiths]); and biographical notes on David Griffiths.
