Biographical history
The Nomination Board originally considered applications from members of the Officers' Training Corps in the University's constituent colleges for nominations for appointments to commissions in the Army. In 1934 the Board came under the authority of the Military Education Committee, which seems to have assumed its responsibilities in 1935 (although the committee had been established some years previously). The Military Education Committee still functions, though no post- 1945 records appear to have survived.
