Administrative history
The Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies was establishd by the Court at its meeting on 7 December 1984 to promote, direct and provide facilities for research into the language, literature and history of Wales and the other Celtic countries, and into any other subject relating to Wales recommended by the Management Committee. The Centre began its work at Aberystwyth on 1 October 1985 and the first Management Committee met on 26 April 1985.
