[Prince's Dock, Liverpool]

View from a high vantage point (probably the Liver Building) showing the entrance to Prince's Dock South-West, Liverpool. Also visible are the offices of the Belfast Steamship Company, and two vessels berthed on the quayside one identified as being 'Drottningholm' belonging to the Swedish American Line. The vessel is marked with distinctive stipes on her hull and the wording "Freight Protected Drottingholm Sverige" suggesting that this was taken during or shortly after WW2 when the vessel was chartered as an exchange ship. Bomb damage to a nearby warehouse also suggests that this photo was taken during or after the war years. The vessel moored behind her is Mauretania II painted in battleship grey and used as a troopship during WW2. Censorship regulations would probably not permitted such an image WW2 was ongoing.
