Probate records of the Pughe family of Mathafarn and Llanwrin, comprising a commission from the Court of Arches to administer the estate of of John Pughe during the the minority of his daughter Bridgett Pughe, 1631; letters of administration of Rowland Pughe of Mathafarn, and an account of his goods and debts by his widow and administratrix, Mary Pughe, who ‘alleadgeth…that a great part of the horses and cattle of the said dec[edan]t. …was taken from her by force and violence of souldiers in these late warrs….’ 1646-1647; and a copy of the will of William Pughe, late of Mathafarn, then of Machynlleth, referring to a purchase of the Gellygoch estate and providing for his younger children from the profits of mines in the lordship of Cyfeiliog, 1718.
