A transcript made by J. R. Hughes, from the original record, of 'The Quakers in Wales: Yearly Meeting Minute Book from 1682 to 1797, Account of Sufferings from 1682 to 1791'. [In point of fact the actual order is reversed, and the Account of Sufferings comes first (pp. 2-214 in the transcript) and is followed by the Minute Book of the Yearly Meeting for Wales (pp. 228-452). The original record appears to be in the safe keeping of the South Wales Monthly Meeting.] The transcript was begun in Oct. 1945 and completed in Oct. 1947 (see p. 452, 'Nodyn Personol'). On p. 215 is 'a copy of a loose sheet (foolscap size) found in Jonathan Lloyd's possession 22.7.1950' containing 'The Sufferings of Friends in Wales on Accot of Tithes &c in ye year 1762'. Opposite (p. 216) is the following note in pencil: 'Sufferings not entered in the Record from 1706-1719 - although referred to as received in the minutes of the Y. M. (Wedi myned ar goll - mae'n debyg J. R. Hughes 1959).'. There are also some loose papers, including a copy (extracted) of the will of Thos Llewelyn of Southampton Street, Bloomsbury, LlD, proved with two codicils, 21 Aug. 1783, and a copy of the testimony of John Griffith to Robt Dudley concerning John Crook. (The same story is told by Frances Anne Budge in Annals of The Early Friends (Philadelphia, 1900), pp. 114-115.).
