Joseph Jenkins moved to Trecefel, Tregaron, a 180 acre farm, in 1848, as a tenant farmer with his wife and first child. The Reverend Latimer Jones, Vicar of St Peter's Church, Carmarthen, was his landlord. Over the years Joseph Jenkins invested a substantial amount of money in improving Trecefel and was 'regarded as the most successful farm in the county' in the first decade. For biographical details concerning Joseph and Anne Jenkins see relevant level descriptions.
