Cliff's E[executive] C[ommittee] members gave him a gold watch, and the office staff gave him a gold bracelet strap to go with it. The gift from the movement in Wales will be presented to him at the Annual Conference of the Welsh Council of Labour at Porthcawl in May. Mr Ron Mathias of the TGWU, who is the Treasurer of the Welsh Council of Labour, is responsible for the fund. Cliff retires on 31 January, and Emrys Jones starts work on 1 February. It would be wonderful if Huw T. Edwards returns to the Labour Party before Cliff retires. Welsh.
