Janet Jones was selected from 1099 other female applicants to embark on a tour of the USA to spread awareness Wales and Welsh culture. Leather bound scrapbook entitled, 'National Hostess of Wales Goodwill Tour 1955'. A typed paper pasted to a page at the beginning of the volume reads "Prepared for: Miss Janet Jones as a memento of her successful Goodwill Tour by the Public Relations Department, British Travel Association, 336 Madison Avenue, New York 17, N.Y.". The scrapbook contains newspaper cuttings of articles and photographs, telegrams, letters, typed daily schedules, and interviews.

The lists, compiled daily, 17-23 July, 25 July, 29 July-2 August (ff. 4-10, rectos only, 11-13, 14) and 3-18 August (ff. 3 verso-7 verso, versos only, 8 verso-10 verso, 13 verso, 14 verso-20), are variously headed 'Hospital List', 'Medicine' or 'Medical List' and include the names of patients and their prisoner numbers. Three further lists, 22 October 1916 and [n.d.], are included on loose sheets (ff. 21-23). The volume also includes lists of Irish words and phrases (ff. 1 verso-2 verso, 18 verso-19). The volume is written mostly in pencil. Frongoch housed over 1800 Irish republicans between June and December 1916; the South Camp was located in an old whisky distillery, the nearby North Camp consisted of wooden huts. O Donohoe writes 'Farewell' on f. 19 verso and the end of the volume coincides closely with the release of the majority of the prisoners in mid-August.

There are notes on the contents of some of the items in the hand of Gwawr Morris, widow of John Meirion Morris.

Papers of the Rhys Davies Trust (est. 1991), relating mainly to the administration of the Trust and the Rhys Davies Short Story Competition. Included are five files of papers relating to the Trust’s financial matters, consisting of valuation reports (2014-2019), account, tax, and investment statements together with related correspondence (2008-2014), and a number of cash and cheque books (2008-2018); five files of Trust administrative documents and correspondence (2008-2020), including papers relating to meeting minutes, accounts, publishing matters, website design, royalties (both of the works of Rhys Davies and of Anna Kavan), funding applications, and the Rhys Davies Short Story competition. Correspondents include Meic Stephens, Peter Finch, and M. Wynn Thomas.

Seven further files contain papers (1895-2012) relating to the life and works of Rhys Davies (1901-1978), apparently collected during research for the biography ‘Rhys Davies: a writer’s life’ (Cardigan: Parthian, 2013) by Meic Stephens, secretary of the Trust 1991-2012. The papers consist of correspondence ([1920s]-2012), including letters from Rhys Davies, Lewis Davies, Louis Quinain, Meic Stephens, Fred Blackmore, David Ellis, John Harris, and Gwyn Pritchard; and photographs (1918-1990), mainly of Rhys Davies and friends and family, including Lewis Davies, Gertrude (‘Gertie’) Davies, Anna Kavan, Fred Urquhart, Louise Callender, Colyn Davies, Nina Hamnett, Esther & Charles Lahr, Raymond B. Marriott, Louis Taylor, and Philip Burton; together with notes and cuttings.

Additionally, the archive contains three files of press cuttings and copies of articles (1929-[1987]), collected and written either by or about Rhys Davies, including articles from Keidrych Rhys’s ‘Wales’, and ‘Anglo-Welsh Review’; several items of memorabilia, comprising Rhys Davies’s passport (stamped 1968-1978), OBE medal (awarded 1968), a decorative glass plaque with lettering ’RHYS’ (undated), an ‘MD Magazine’ 10th anniversary medal (1967), and a small box of rosary beads; and nine printed books, consisting of Rhys Davies’ works ‘Marianne’ (London: 1951, signed by author), ‘A Time to Laugh’ (two copies, 1937 & 1938, both with note & signature of Davies), 'Selected Stories' (London/Dublin: [1945], with slip dated 1945), and 'Boy With a Trumpet' (London: 1949, with undated press cutting); together with ‘The Last Sister’ by Fred Urquhart (London: 1950, with note by author), ‘Shakespeare’s Sonnets’ (with slip dated 1945), and translations of Anna Kavan's works ‘L’adversaire Céleste’ (Paris: 1947, with a sketch dated 1951) and ‘Mercury’ (Valencia: 2006, with a letter to the Rhys Davies Trust).

Secretary's copy of the Welsh Mountain Sheep Breeders' Flock Book, vol. 7 (1912-13), inscribed 'Official copy' on the front cover, including manuscript amendments and minutes of the 19th General Meeting held at Porthmadog in August 1913, signed by the President of the Welsh Mountain Sheep Flock Book Society, C. Bryner Jones, 22 July 1914. The blank pages at the end of the volume contain handwritten minutes of a Special Meeting at the Royal Show Ground Shrewsbury, 1 July 1914, following the resignation of R. N. Jones as Secretary and arrangements for the appointment of his successor at the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, Newport, on the 22nd July.

Papers of Lily F. Chitty, Pontesbury, Shropshire, relating mainly to her work in indexing Archaeologia Cambrensis, 1846-1900. Included are a typescript copy, in two volumes, of the index compiled; 4 notebooks, 2 log books, and a petty cash book, 1932-1950, relating to the compilation of the work; a box file containing notes and correspondence and a file of correspondence, 1931-1964, relating to the Index Committee which had been set up, the correspondents including Sir John Edward Lloyd, Sir Cyril Fox, H. J. Randall, T. Jones Pierce, T. E. Morris, J. D. K. Lloyd, V. E. Nash-Williams, and Willoughby Gardner. Also included are notebooks relating to Cambrian Archaeological Association meetings, 1952-1955, 1962-1967; personal correspondence and photographs, 1951-1977; and various offprints, etc.

Additional papers consisting of First World War Honourable Discharge Certificates (right half only) found amongst the estate of Lily Frances Chitty, sister-in-law of Mary Derwas Chitty (née Kitson Clark), and transferred to the donor by the latter's daughter, Anna Georgina Chitty. Also included is research, compiled by Barbara Reardon, on the individuals named in the certificates; July 2023.

The papers of Lord German, relating to his time as leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, a Member of the National Assembly for Wales and Deputy First Minister. The files comprised press coverage, campaign material, speeches, correspondence between party leaders in the National Assembly for Wales, coalition negotiations in 2000 and 2007 and work as Deputy First Minister of Wales.

Seven letters and Air Letters, [?January 1946], 22 September 1947-10 May 1948, from John Cowper Powys, Corwen, Merionethshire, to actor, theatre director and writer Reginald Pole, in New York City, Denver, Colorado, and West Hollywood, mostly concerning Pole's unpublished novel, 'To An Unknown God', and Powys's attempts to facilitate its publication in Britain or America (ff. 1-6, 9-12).
The letters contain advice on literary agents and publishers (ff. 2 verso, 9-10 verso), a detailed discussion of the novel (ff. 3-6 verso), a self-portrait cartoon (f. 9 verso), references to Romain Rolland's 'Jean Christophe' novels, to which Pole's novel is compared (ff. 10-11), and the text of an open letter, or 'blurb', to publishers concerning the novel (f. 12 recto-verso). Also included are two envelopes, one incomplete (postmarked 21 November and 1 December 1947), for which the letters are absent (ff. 7-8); a typescript copy, with emendations, of the open letter (ff. 13-14) and an alternative typescript introduction to the novel (f. 15). The letters are variously signed 'Jack', 'Jack the Ripper', 'John C.P. ', 'Jack not the Ripper' and 'JCP'; the letter dated 18 October 1947 (ff. 3-6) is unsigned and may be incomplete. The first letter (f. 1) has an envelope in the hand of Marian Powys, having presumably been forwarded by her.
