A selection of family papers including (i) letters and papers relating to the death of Dr Mary Williams, and the administration of her estate, 1977-1979; (ii) letters from Dr Mary Williams, Swansea and Hampstead, addressed to Rhyda and Julian Williams, 1935-1937, 1940-1943, 1946, 1949, 1951, 1954, 1968, 1972-1974, together with one letter addressed to Basil Williams, 1968, from Jennie Ruggles-Gates (Dr Mary’s sister); (iii) letters addressed to Rhyda Williams, 1914, 1932, 1978-1979, including one letter from Walford Davies, 1932 and three letters from Grace Williams, Barry, 1968 and 1976, together with one possible early, but undated, photograph of Grace Williams; (iv) letters and papers relating to radio broadcasts by Rhyda Williams, 1934-1935, 1937-1938, 1944, including handwritten and typewritten scripts on ‘Schubert’ (Awr y Plant, 29 Gorffennaf 1937) and ‘[Edward] Macdowell’ (Awr y Plant, 2 Medi 1937), and a handwritten script ‘Rhyfeddodau glan y môr’ by Basil Williams, 11 Awst 1937, together with some testimonials and personalia relating to Rhyda Williams, 1921 and 1942; (v) letters, papers and personalia, 1960, 1967-1968, 1978, 1983, 1989, relating to the career of Julian Williams, including two postcards from actress Caroline Berry, 1989.
