Title deeds, 1647-1680, of a messuage called Tythyn a Capel, lands called Dol Efa, Erow Aelhayarn, Erow’r Ceyniad, Cay’r Dyll, Cay’r Llwyn, and Y Cay Issa, a corn mill called Melin y Capel in 1653, and later a fulling mill called Pandu yr Cappell, 1679, all in the townships of Saithmarchog and Aelhaearn in the parish of Gwyddelwern. The deeds include mortgages by William Humffreys of Maerdy, Gwyddelwern, to David Thomas of Penmaen and his grandson John ap John Piers of Gwyddelwern, 1647, 1650, followed by an assignment to Stephen Lewis, minister of the gospel, 1651, and a conveyance to David Thomas in tail, to uses (specified), 1653; the post-nuptial settlement of John Piers and Catherine his wife, daughter of John Thomas ap Ieuan of Llysan, which also includes Ty Du and a cottage called Avottu, 1665; a lease back by Elizabeth Knowles of Denbigh to John Thomas ap Ieuan of Llysan, 1668; and deeds relating to the sale by John Pierce (Piers) of Aelhaearn, Katherine his wife, and William Humphreys to William Owens, a trustee of Owen Salesbury of Rug, 1679-1680.
